Quite a dark crime film. The story is not very complicated. The execution is reasonably successful but somewhat predictable. The film is built up quietly without everything being explained completely. That makes the film somewhat mysterious but is not disturbing and fits the whole atmosphere quite well. The action is hard and bloody. Brody acts well and is good in his role. The setting and atmosphere are, as mentioned, dark and raw with a fitting soundtrack. 3.5

Very dark film with a rough edge. Is the film good, or does it slide? I find it difficult to say. In any case, we see beautiful images that sometimes border on beautiful filmmaking. The impoverished district in a winter landscape is beautifully set as a backdrop. Brody's black car on a black wet road surface provides beautiful dark symbolism and gives the film some extra atmosphere. The camera work with specific lighting also ensures this. In the often dark images, the heads of the main characters are always well lit. Brody also has a beautiful head for this role. As does the bad guy. What a bastard he is. Another plus is the music in the film that is very varied and sometimes truly beautiful. Unfortunately, the film also has some downsides. A wafer-thin story, an ending that you see coming and has often been presented like that. I found the end of the film very mediocre and the first three quarters of an hour very atmospheric, dark and made me curious about the rest. Enjoyable. And for a repeat someday.

Far too thin, in many ways. Story as thin as an A4 sheet, characters as cardboard, and no depth or even symbolic meaning. Bare, coarse, gloomy, unnecessary.
