A Place to Go plot

Amid the drunken singing of pubs and the rubble of the slums giving way to high-rise buildings, life in Bethnal Green changes for the Flints. Father can stop working at the shipyard, the daughter is looking for a new house where she can live with her husband and the expected baby. The son, Ricky, is also disgruntled and eager to get away. He is involved in a planned robbery at the cigarette factory where he works. His life gets even more complicated when he starts a relationship with the quirky Catherine.
