The pedantic policeman Frantisek tries to raise his daughters with a strict hand. He would like to see them matched with capable and successful men, but they only seem to have a talent for conquering the opposite. The first daughter does everything she can to get pregnant, the second only dates frenzied suckers and the third is pregnant and doesn't know whose. When a liberal writer and his wife with Spanish roots appear in Frantisek's life, it changes the lives of him and his wife.
