Where Did You Get That Girl? plot
Jeff Brant is a struggling young composer of symphonic music. Helen Borden, who lives in Jeff's apartment building, convinces him to let their landlady's son, Joe, make swing arrangements of Jeff's music, hoping it will help them all make careers. The band sneaks into a recording studio at night to make an audition record, but when burglars rob the studio, the band members fear they will be framed for the crime. They later discover that they accidentally left their recording behind and by a fluke it spreads and becomes a hit of 'The Mystery Swingsters'. Jeff, Helen, Joe and the rest of the band must figure out how to claim credit for the record without getting arrested for the burglary.
