When Charlie Mason is promoted from reporter to editor, his relationship with journalist Rusty Fleming is at stake. He loses her and learns some time later that she is engaged to someone else. Charlie doesn't give up, but quits his job and tries to win Rusty over again.

Entertaining comedy in which Cary Grant is back on track. It kind of reminded me of His Girl Friday from a few years later, because Grant again plays a similar character in journalism there.
HGF is a lot better and sharper than this movie. In addition, I find Rosalind Russell in HGF a bit more convincing than Joan Bennett, who doesn't quite come out on top here.
All in all a very nice film, definitely worth 3.5* in my opinion.

a somewhat bland comedy in which a lot happens but there is no cohesion or common thread to be found .
The story doesn't captivate and there seems to be a lot of fuss about nothing.
