Bonnie, an ambitious but unsuccessful singer ends up in a mental institution. There she is approached by four curious people who persuade her to form a band they call The Patients. Their first performance is a big fiasco. When Bonnie is discharged as healed shortly afterwards, the foursome won't let her go. They persuade her to participate anyway.
