When his wife files for divorce, Jerry Ryan falls into deep depression. He quits his job in Nebraska and wanders aimlessly through the streets of New York. Then he meets Gittel Mosca, a former dancer from Greenwich Valley, who is also unemployed in a depression. Together they try to get their lives back on track.
