Tu M'as Sauvé La Vie plot
The baron Saint-Rambert is an old egoist who lives alone with his servants. He must undergo the scruples of his neighbor, a countess with an incendiary temper. One day, a philosophical bum knocks on his door looking for a job. The baron only wants to give him alms, but the visitor firmly refuses this. A while later, the baron leaves his house for a walk through the city. He is nearly run over by a road pirate. His life is saved by the bum, whom he had previously refused a job. The baron realizes that he has no choice but to show the man his gratitude in one way or another.
