"There's no such thing as a small affair."
Architect Porter and his wife Ellie celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and look back on a happy and successful life. When Porter's close friend Griffin confesses to having an affair, Porter experiences a midlife crisis. Although he knows that no woman can match Ellie, he is very sensitive to the charms of other women. Yet he manages to resist the temptation of the sensual cellist Lex. But when Griffin's wife hires Porter to renovate her house, it becomes difficult to remain faithful.
