Mike Spillone (Totò) is a fake detective hired by two old ladies to track down Brigitte (Abbe Lane), their cousin's wife. Unaware that Brigitte is a doctor, Mike sees her with several patients, whom he mistakes for her lovers. He also discovers that she is having an affair with Otello Bellomo... her own husband!
