Laura Partridge (Judy Holliday) is an enthusiastic shareholder with a small number of shares in the New York company International Projects. At her first shareholders' meeting, she asks questions that International Projects' managers were not expecting, especially since all of them are corrupt except for Edward McKeever (Paul Douglas). Unfortunately, Edward just quit his job for a better job at the Pentagon.
