The Rebound plot
"She's still got it. He's just getting it."
When Sandy (Catherine Zeta Jones) finds out her husband is cheating on her, she packs her things and moves to New York with her kids. Here she meets the much younger Aram (Justin Bartha), whose newly concluded marriage to a Frenchwoman turns out to be a lie for a residence permit. Connected in the grief for their relationships, they find each other a pleasant interlocutor. When Sandy is offered a job, she asks Aram to babysit her children, bringing the two closer together. While there are plenty of reasons not to, a relationship between Sandy and Aram seems like the ideal solution. However, the question is: are they each other's 'rebound' or is it real love?

Nice rom com. The story goes as expected. The movie certainly has some fun scenes. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Justin Bartha were both doing well and the kids weren't annoying either. And the movie has a nice atmosphere. However, I didn't always like him that much. At times the film got a bit boring and at the end also a bit long-winded. Towards the end the film actually becomes less, compared to the beginning and the middle. It's a fun movie to watch, but not much more than that. On the edge:

Only seen because I thought (hero) Art Garfunkel would have a big part. Is in the first 3 actors here, but his presence was disappointing. Not a big role. Other than that, this 'The Rebound' is fine, with a few highlights (the moment that little dude is looking like moms and babysitters are hopping) and some lesser moments. Didn't expect anything great and it wasn't. Still easy to get through. Enjoyed me quite a bit. Zeta Jones looked damn good.

What to say about this? It is interesting to see a romantic film in which the woman is older. The protagonists also have chemistry, which of course helps, but for the rest the film is not very much. The younger of the bunch seems to be a bit more mature, but the ending feels a bit unbelievable. 1.5*.
