The Girl on the Front Page plot
"A HARD BOILED NEWSPAPERMAN TAKES SOCIETY INTO CAMP!"
After inheriting her father's newspaper, socialite Joan Langford clashes with editor-in-chief Hank Gilman, a hard-nosed reporter who resents her interference in the newspaper's affairs. She disguises herself as an aspiring journalist and gets a job at the paper, while Gilman is well aware of who she is and assigns her very difficult assignments to convince her that the newspaper business is not for her. Eventually, however, she gains his respect and together they attempt to thwart a blackmail attempt by Langford's British butler, who turns out to be the head of a group of criminal servants.
