Toni Gerard arrives in New York with only 38 cents. Toni's friend is the fortune teller Madame Zenobia and she is friends with her neighbor who owns a shooting gallery. Toni is in love with lawyer Brad Cavanaugh, one of Madame Zenobia's clients, but Brad is engaged to Jo Ainsley. When Madame Zenobia is injured, Toni takes her place and tries to gain influence over Brad so that he breaks off his relationship with Jo.
