The Countess of Monte Cristo plot
The young Janet Krueger is a cheap extra for a Viennese film studio. However, she has had enough of her lot in life. Hoping for the last chance to experience something before ending up in the poorhouse, Janet steals an expensive car and fur coat from the movie studio and heads for a seaside hotel, where she registers as "Countess of Monte Cristo'. Janet's best friend and reluctant traveling companion Mimi is sure they will both be exposed within days, but Janet is able to continue her masquerade with great success. She even attracts the attention of the wealthy gentlemen Rumowski and 'The Baron'...
