The Cohens and Kellys in Hollywood plot
"The Real Laugh of 1932!"
The Cohen and Kelly families, living in the small town of Hillsboro, have been best friends for years. Melville, the son of Moe and Sarah Cohen, who has a crush on Kitty, the daughter of Michael and Maggie Kelly, sends her photo to Continental Productions in Hollywood after they advertise to recruit new actresses. Kitty then wins a contract with the company and her family moves to Hollywood where they are successful and buy a mansion. After receiving a postcard from the Kellys, the Cohens decide to sell their Hillsboro theater and also move to Hollywood. However, upon arrival, they are snubbed by the now snobbish Kellys.
