The Brat plot
"No Roaring Guns...All Roaring Laffs! She's a Scamp in Scanty Skirts!"
A 17-year-old street girl, "the Brat", is taken into the household of wealthy author MacMillan "Mack" Forester, whose family she continues to annoy with her street wisdom. After a while, however, the Foresters begin to admire "the Brat", especially Mack's son Stephen, who has fallen madly in love with her. However, "The Brat" likes the older Mack more, whose girlfriends Angela and Jane become increasingly jealous.
