The Big Empty plot

After seeing a lost friend with unfulfilled dreams die before his eyes while stocking shelves in a supermarket, Lloyd Matthews trades his job as a waiter for a career as a private detective. After stalking their unfaithful husbands in front of some suspicious clients, Lloyd finds it difficult to maintain personal distance and becomes entangled in the lives of Jane and Peter, a strange kind of social worker.
