The American Ruling Class plot
Is there such a thing as a ruling class in the US, a country built on the illusion of a classless society where it's not your origin that counts but merely your merit? Mike and Jack, newly graduated from Yale, each in their own way go in search of the establishment and the mores that prevail there. They are accompanied by the incorruptible, old and wise journalist Lewis Lapham. Other wise lessons come from Robert Altman, Walter Cronkite and Kurt Vonnegut. Gradually, this socially critical treatise raises another question: where is the dividing line between feature film and documentary?
