Tandem plot

Two men, Rudolf (Vadim Glowna) and Robert (Winfried Glatzeder), agree that one (Rudolf) may be married to their dream woman Katharina (Hannelore Hoger) for the first 25 years, and the other (Robert) for the next 25 years, without Katharina being aware of the appointment. Robert does indeed appear a quarter of a century later. Katharina, who then hears about it for the first time, finds the idea attractive, but there is a complication: her 25-year-old daughter, who is the spitting image of the mother. Robert bends to the knees for the beautiful daughter, though Mother cries desperately that he was once the father...
