Star Spangled Rhythm plot
"The Paramount Musical Comedy Of All Time!"
While still a humble security guard, William "Pop" Webster has told his son, who is in the Navy, that he has risen to the rank of director of Paramount. When his Johnny comes to visit his father at Paramount, he is led to believe that his father is in charge there. After Pop offers with a grand gesture to organize a show with many top artists for the navy, this is approved by the admiral to his great horror. With the help of Polly, Johnny's girlfriend, Pop must now try to get as many actors as possible, such as Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Fred MacMurray, Paulette Goddard, Veronica Lake and Vera Zorina, to perform on the naval base.
