"Rube Goldberg's girly, goofy farce."
Ted owns a costume shop, Schmidt Costume Shop, but is on the verge of bankruptcy because he spends most of his time in the fire station. There he and the firefighters on duty (the three Stooges) make all kinds of strange inventions, which means that he goes bankrupt. Ted's boss sends Carlson, a manager, to take over Ted's business. This is not counting the firefighters.
