Show People plot
The beautiful Peggy Pepper moves from Georgia to Hollywood with the idea of becoming a famous drama actress there. She meets Billy Boone who helps her land a part in a slapstick comedy and in time she becomes a famous comedienne. Then Peggy takes an offer from a prestigious studio to make "serious" movies. There she meets Andre Telefair, who pretends to be an earl. She changes her name, drops Billy and all her other friends, and acts more and more like a snob, causing her fans to turn on her too. When Billy then hears that Andre and Peggy are getting married, he decides to take action.
