"He's hoping for a miracle. He doesn't have a prayer."

Hamilton, United States 1954. Ralph is a 14-year-old boy with a very ill mother. He's sure he's destined for something big, he just doesn't know what it should be yet. Due to an unfortunate incident, he is punished by joining the cross-country team. He is completely absorbed in running and is confident that he can heal his mother by winning the Boston Marathon.
