"The whole wonderful story of today's ROCK-AND-ROLL GENERATION! ..told the way they want it told!"

18-year-old high school student Jimmy Daley wants a music career. Jimmy's father, the physicist Thomas Daley Sr., objects to this, however. Nevertheless, Jimmy starts a student band with 'Ox' Bentley (Rod McKuen) among others and then does his best to get bookings. In Los Angeles, Jimmy can perform with his band on the television show of the disc jockey Johnny Grant.
