Return to Mayberry plot
After nearly 20 years, Andy Taylor (Andy Griffith) returns to Mayberry to resume his old job as sheriff. He wants to quit his current job at the US Mail. But his old post as sheriff has been occupied by his former sidekick Barney Fife (Don Knotts). After a long time, he finally wants to marry Thelma Lou (Bettye Lynn).
