Reducing plot
"CHEATING the scales and chasing the blues...a hurricane hunt for an eight-ounce pound!"
In New York, snobbish Madame Pauline "Polly" Rochay runs an exclusive beauty salon that specializes in weight loss. When she learns that her sister Marie Truffle of South Bend, Indiana, is impoverished, Polly decides to take her and her husband Elmer into her home with their three children Vivian, Jerry and Marty. Joyce, Polly's elite daughter, is against her mother's decision. She insists the Truffles are too uncivilized to move in with them. When the Truffles finally arrive in the big city, Polly lets her sister Marie work in her drawing room while Elmer looks for work as a postman. But Joyce continues to resist the ill-mannered Truffles and complications are inevitable.
