Vasátko and Marcovec are two petty thieves who, during their time in prison, come to the conclusion that they want to improve their lives. When the two villains get out of prison, they find that honest work is impossible in the generally accepted system of double standards. The dream of easy-to-grab profits beckons and they are forced into criminal acts, with sad consequences.
