Stenographer Sheba Miller longs for luxury. Sheba lives with her elderly father who runs a cigar shop. Though she's adored by the soft drink salesman Jack, Sheba doesn't think twice about marrying him unless he gets the much-anticipated raise. Jack takes Sheba to the exclusive nightclub Pirate's Den where she wins the challenging beautiful legs contest and Sheba is awarded an award by judge Nickey Solomon, a mobster. Impressed by Nickey's flashy car and appearance, Sheba is open to his advances. However, when Nickey finally makes a proposal to Sheba, Jack and father Miller have their reservations.
