Palookaville plot
"One foot in the door. The other one in the gutter."
Jerry, Russ and Sid are unemployed and meet daily at the local cafeteria. They fantasize about get-rich-quick opportunities and decide to embark on a criminal career. Their first break-in at a jewelry store fails miserably because they made a mistake in the floor plan. This is indicative of the total lack of criminal skill among the three.
