Osôshiki plot
Wabisuke and Chizuko, a married couple, both work in an extremely drab TV studio that they take no pleasure in. This daily grind is disrupted when Chizuko's father dies of a heart attack. The couple are asked to take care of the complex and expensive planning of the ritual cremation. The three-day vigil develops into a series of bizarre events, absurd misconceptions, family feuds, and unwelcome surprises. The vigil finally reaches a spiritual low when an uninvited drunk woman makes a very remarkable request.
