North of Pittsburgh plot

Tony Andretti (Jeff Schultz), from Sault St. Marle, Ontario, Canada, has little interest in becoming a steel worker like the rest of the townspeople. He dreams of the big money that should make him rich quick. He smuggles hashish out of the city into Canada. He is a smooth bird, for whom nothing moves fast enough. His grandmother Rosa (Viveca Lindfors) has been widowed because his grandfather, a miner, died of a dust lung. Rosa is entitled to an extra benefit, but the authorities in Pittsburgh are taking a long time. Rosa is not particularly fond of her grandson, whose shady dealings she knows very well, but they have one thing in common: impatience and the desire to get money.
