Reasonable.

I saw the original in the cinema at the time. I haven't seen it since then. When I saw that it dates back to 2006, I was a bit shocked. Time flies. This sequel has been out longer than I thought. Now, I don't remember much about part 1, not that that matters.

Because part 2 seems to be going its own way. It's all less hysterical, excluding the ending. The languid main character just does what – I think it's best to have something. Some scenes are funny, others are not. In any case, this kind of film is nothing more than a snack.

Ben Stiller is doing well, perhaps because he seems a bit worn out. That suits him better than playing the sympathetic loser with hustle and bustle all around, like in the Fockers films, etc.

The supporting cast is a bit hit-or-miss. Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan are okay, roles like the ever-cuddly Amy Adams are pretty much useless. Hank Azaria does his best, but still misses something.

Everything else a bit too long. Comedies would more often be under an hour and a half (including end credits), it would make it all a bit smoother. This film had also benefited from it, despite some successful jokes and pranks.

This movie is still funny, there are so many great scenes in it. That conversation with Kahmunrah when he first comes face to face with Larry, for example. Fantastic how Ben Stiller and Hank Azaria act there! And also funny things that are said. I also like the moment when Al Capone, Ivan the Terrible and Napoleon reclaim Larry's tablet. I also find the conversation between Larry and Brandon hilarious. As well as Octavius who wants to go save Jedediah with the squirrel.

Personally, I didn't like Amy Adams as Emilia Earheart. I found her a bit busy and childish, too irritating. That made the movie a bit less fun for me. Nothing against Amy herself, she's just a great actress. I just don't think that role suits her. I liked that very small part she had at the end.

In short: a good film but the least enjoyable of the three.
