"Love, once believed, is real."
Well-known gynecologist Veronica Yu, a widow after a loveless marriage, thinks she can find love in the charming Frenchman Alain Jeunet via a dating app. But behind Alain's profile lies the young con artist Joe Lee, who is part of an organization that specializes in defrauding and extorting money from people like Veronica. Despite her financial loss, Veronica remains convinced that it was true love. Joe also realizes that the relationship brought more than just financial gain. When they are both questioned by detectives, it becomes clear that there is more to the story and they mainly learn something about themselves.
