Nancy from Nowhere plot

Jack Halliday discovers Nancy, a poor young woman from the mountains, being abused by her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly. He takes her to the city where she grows into a social butterfly. Nancy, however, returns to her mountain cabin because she does not want to ruin his life prospects by marrying him. Jack follows her back and finds her in the clutches of a villain.
