Mortinho por Chegar a Casa plot
The Portuguese migrant Manuel (Diogo Infante) dies in Amsterdam. After his burial, he awakens as a ghost and learns that his soul will not find rest until his remains are buried in his native land. Back in Portugal, the ghost discovers that, although invisible, inaudible, and incorporeal, it can make contact with dreaming humans. In the weeks that follow, he makes frantic efforts to persuade his only sister, Julia, to transport his bones to Portugal. Hoping for a hefty inheritance, Julia leaves for the Netherlands. Once there, Manuel Julia appears to have posthumously left with the debts of his funeral and a failed bar in Amsterdam. To get rid of debts, Julia, together with Manuel's Dutch friends Max and Joris, rolls up their sleeves to turn Manuel's old bar into a successful Portuguese restaurant. Meanwhile, a romance blossoms between Max and Julia. They find that they keep having the same dreams with Manuel in the lead role and that he needs their help.
