A very humorous film with a pretty neurotic Cage who shows that after Leaving Las Vegas and 8MM he can certainly still play a role quite nicely, and this may be his best because he portrays the neurotic quite catchy and laughable.

Great film, nice twist, well played by Lohman, among others, who was already 23 there, and I always think Rockwell is great. The film has a certain lightness, humor, drama and feel good.

Entertaining movie.

Great Ridley Scott movie. Also one in which Nicolas Cage comes into his own. It's hard to think of anyone else who could play this in his place. I liked the twist and afterwards it is also interesting to see how Cage deals with it. Furthermore, Cage does not really approach his job as a crime but rather as an art. He's quite proud of his tricks to cheat other people's money. The law of the strongest (or cunning) seems to hold for a long time until he himself is played through his own weakness. He allows someone into his life who he thinks is his daughter.

A great snack from Grandmaster Ridley Scott, with only a single tour de force with the camera, because this is not about stunning images. It's a nice feel-good film, it's not a comedy but a typical light-hearted crime film because it's not about tough guys but about swindlers. Fortunately, it is all reasonable to follow what they are up to. It's pretty well put together, it's not overblown despite a big plot twist. Because meanwhile, you as a viewer will be lifted, which of course fits perfectly with such a theme.

Cage is well cast as a good-natured con man and his buddy Rockwell has fun doing it too. Cage's tics are the same as you would see with any actor, he has to play someone with tics. And they also have a function for the story, so luckily it's not a gimmick. Lohman acts very well. It's all strong enough to empathize with the changes that Roy is going through. The pace is nice too. This one had been in a drawer for 16 years, as it were, but I'm glad I finally looked at it.
