Mange Ta Soupe plot

A man travels through Paris for work. He arrives with his mother, a literary critic who lives alone in a large house filled with books. The father has a new life elsewhere and his sister, a young single mother, has followed him. The son expects a new position, but he has to wait another week and that turns out to be quite a long time.
