Mama Aloko plot

Mama Aloko is a small African family restaurant in Belleville in Paris. Mother and son will do anything to keep their heads above water. Until a visit from the health inspector is announced. They need to replace the old unsanitary refrigerator asap. Among the restaurant's customers we find a number of characters who are caricatured a cross-section of multicultural Paris: the young Arab-French policeman, the failed writer, the Asian, the black prostitute. With the inspection over her head and buried under the prevailing tensions in the multicultural district, Mama Aloko still manages to contribute to the social cohesion of the district.
