Lovers plot

The marriage between father Jakob Thurnau and mother Lavinia is exemplary. Both daughters, Theres and Kati, are no problem. However, Lavinia's world completely collapses when she finds out that Jacob has been cheating on her. She is inexorable and wants a divorce. Jacob refuses. In the end, they agree that Jacob will not agree to divorce until Lavinia has seduced ten other men herself.
