After missing his cult’s long-awaited ritual suicide, an obnoxious deadbeat teams up with his deceitful ex-messiah to rebuild their doomsday commune. The constantly bickering duo travel across Central America together, taking in a military wannabe, a mentally unstable mother, and a mysterious foreign hitchhiker. But will this family of outcasts fulfill their transcendent destiny—or decide that this life might be worth living after all?
