Lepsie Byt' Bohatý a Zdravý Ako Chudobný a Chorý plot

The story is set against the background of the fall of communism in Czechoslovakia in 1989. When Nona's politically engaged boyfriend hears that she is pregnant, he decides to pack his bags. Nona is left alone, but finds a companion in the Czech Ester. The two immediately become best friends and together they look for a way to survive in the post-war country.
