Le Roi des Champs-Élysées plot

The fugitive American mobster Buster Garner turns out to have a doppelganger: the hapless Parisian Jim LeBalafre. He's a publisher who was fired for handing out real French francs instead of banknote-like advertising brochures. Big problems arise when LeBalafre is mistaken for Garner and the fake notes end up among the original notes of Garner's criminal organization.
