L'Étincelle plot

Maurice, originally from Algeria (a pied-noir), runs a restaurant in London, where couscous is the specialty. His wife, a choreographer, has left for the US. Approaching fifty, he meets the much younger (and seven months pregnant) Dale, who is a radio host. Her husband Mike is a dull archaeologist in Morocco nurturing a skeleton of a prehistoric animal. She feels lonely. Maurice can't choose between her and his mistress Kathryn.
