Thomas Müller's life is definitely that of an average German. His marriage to Sabine is on the rocks and he barely understands his teenage son Alex, like his girlfriend Mira. His life is characterized by routine and daily television viewing takes up more of his free time than conversations with his wife. When Thomas loses his job and struggles with his home's installment plan, he meets the charismatic, successful Stefan Schmidt and everything changes.
