Knockout - Ein Junges Mädchen, ein Junger Mann plot

The unemployed typist Marianne Plümke is sent by the employment office to a variety theater to work as a secretary. Unexpectedly, she ends up in a trial scene of a new revue and immediately has to stand in for a dancer who has just been fired. When she is harassed by the boxer Hütgen at the premiere, the foreman Max (Max Schmeling) shows up and knocks out the heavyweight champion with one targeted blow. The performance has to be cut short and Max is fired. Schmidtchen, an experienced boxing manager, has recognized the talent in Max and wants to train him as a professional boxer.
