Kleider Machen Leute plot

The tailor Wenzel Strapinski daydreams about a great future between rich people and cuts up the mayor's dress suit to fit him. He is fired but is allowed to keep the dress suit. He goes out into the wide world and in the wealthy town of Goldach he is mistaken by his beautiful clothes for the Russian nobleman, who is expected in Goldach for a meeting with a noble lady. When the real count shows up, he decides to play the game for the time being.
