Jutai plot
A hard-working wage slave takes five vacation days and leaves with his wife and two children to his parents in his hometown for the turn of the year for 1991. He decides they go by car to save costs. Unfortunately, the long drive from Tokyo to his birthplace turns out to be a much harder task than expected due to endless traffic jams, diseases and other setbacks. By the time they arrive, they only have time for a short stay.
