In the Diplomatic Service plot

Foreign powers are constantly obtaining American military secrets, so the head of the U.S. diplomatic corps calls in his cousin, Dick Stansbury, to help. Stansbury knows that Dr. Montell is behind this, so he poses as the inventor of an innovative air rifle. This piques the doctor's interest, and when they attend a weekend party together at the Ryersons' estate, Montell tries to convince Stansbury to sell the weapon to his country.
