Jonathan 'Johnny' Street is a composer who is barely making ends meet. He meets Annette Monard and marries her. The problem is that Jonathan was drunk at the time and doesn't really want to be married. Annette travels with him to Paris, cooks for him and cleans for him. To get Jonathan's compositions published, Annette takes them to pianist Paul Darcy. He is impressed, but not by Jonathan.
